SFASU
Professor, TSVI, COMS
Nacogdoches, TX
Cricket has been a braille enthusiast since she was in 5th grade, a TSVI since 1978, and a COMS since 1990. She has enjoyed team efforts with fellow COMS, who may have not taken a braille course, to label maps for students and to advocate for correct signage in public places. Her other passion is in the area of helping others become more comfortable and confident in administering the Functional Vision Evaluation and Learning Media Assessment. She has taught in public schools and rehabilitation agencies in Texas, Louisiana, and Colorado. She is now enjoying her eleventh and last year as an instructor at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Retirement, here she comes!
